Areas of Research Interest (ARIs) provide a mechanism for government departments to engage with a range of researchers and apply research evidence to policy development and decision-making.Ìý
By outlining the main research questions facing government, ARIs play a role in shaping research priorities, and foster collaboration between academia and policymakers.
In 2023/2024, our New Things Fund projects focused on addressing ARIs, encouraging researchers to embed policy stakeholders into the early stages of project planning to enhance real-world impact.
