Dr Stefan Cantore awarded for coaching project in failing inner-city London primary school

The Association for Business Psychology (ABP) has awarded , Senior Teaching Fellow in Organisational Behaviour and HRM in the Management School, the Excellence in Employee Engagement prize for his successful coaching project with staff at a failing inner-city London primary school.

Business Psychology is the study and practice of improving working life. It combines an understanding of the science of human behaviour with experience of the world of work, to attain effective and sustainable performance for both individuals and organisations.

The Senior Teaching Fellow in Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management worked with Wendy Hick, newly appointed Headteacher at Manorfield primary, to turn around performance by working with the staff. Ofsted had earlier placed the school in ‘special measures’ but went on to judge it ‘outstanding’ 16 months after the project. It is among only four out of 56,000 schools inspected since 2005 to manage this achievement.
