Dr Peter Hancock, Director of iSolutions has announced that he will be retiring from the University this July. Pete joined the University in November 1985. Through his 30 years at the University he has seen enormous change and especially in the area of IT services.
Pete notes that,
鈥淚nformation Technology (IT) started out as a cottage industry, but is now the lifeblood upon which the business of the University depends. There has been huge investment in IT over the last 8 years that means the University is well placed for the future. But further investment will be critical to successfully deliver the University鈥檚 exciting plans.
I am proud to have worked with so many dedicated and professional staff both within iSolutions and across the University.聽 Collectively we have made a huge difference in the ability of the University to deliver on its strategic objectives: it has been great to be part of this work. I am now hoping to dedicate my retirement to my family and to my hobbies (particularly bird-watching).鈥
Steve White, the Chief Operating Officer, said,
鈥淧ete has dedicated a significant part of his working life to the University and has been instrumental in transforming our IT provision to keep up with the rapid pace of change in global technology. I鈥檓 sure that you will all join me in wishing Pete a very happy, active and long retirement.鈥
