Module surveys – Your feedback matters

In May, many students will have the opportunity to complete surveys for their modules taught within the second semester. The feedback will help to influence how the University delivers education in the future.

For most taught students in the Faculties of Physical Sciences and Engineering, Engineering and the Environment, Social and Human Sciences, and Natural and Environmental Sciences, you will be able to complete your module surveys from today (Tuesday 5 May 2015). Email invitations will be sent to you with access to the surveys. The survey can be completed on your smartphone, tablet, laptop and other devices.

Students in other faculties should consult with their own faculty and student reps to find out how you can give feedback on your modules.

Why do module surveys matter?

Student feedback on module surveys is really important to your Faculty and the University. It provides anonymous insight on what aspects of the course works best for students. It is also integral to developing and making any needed improvements for future delivery of the module.

Furthermore, your elected representatives will be able to use your feedback to campaign for better teaching practices across the University.

The module that you have taken this semester has developed over the years based on feedback from previous students. The University would now welcome the opportunity to hear your views and help with the continuous improvement of our education.

Sophia D’Angelico, VP Education at SUSU said,

“Many of your will be familiar with the online module survey process at the University. I would encourage you all to take a few minutes and participate in the Semester 2 surveys. Your feedback is really valued by the Faculties and the University as a whole. It helps to identify areas of strength and also where improvements can be made to the educational experience at Southampton. When feedback is honest and fair, it can be an extremely valuable driver of change. Thank you for your ongoing support with completing these surveys.”
