The next University聽Researchers鈥 Caf茅 will take place on Friday 12 June from 18:30 to 20:00 in Mettricks Tea and Coffee House, 117 High Street, Southampton.
The Researchers鈥 Caf茅 gives staff, students and members of the public the opportunity to hear about topical research issues and discuss them in an informal space.
This free event will feature three topics:
- Climate Change in the Arctic: is it unprecedented?聽鈥 with Dr Maarten van Hardenbroek.聽Is climate change affecting the Arctic? Is this just another warm phase? Can we use the past as analogue for the future? It鈥檚 getting warmer, things are going to change, so what?
- Neuromotor Rehabilitation: new technologies and challenges聽鈥 with Dr Anna Soska.聽 Anna will introduce the existing technologies in neuromotor rehabilitation and then discuss the future challenges based on her own experience in developing a new hand rehabilitation system.
- Satellite imaging: it鈥檚 not just pretty pictures! – with Dr Robin Wilson.聽聽Robin will talk about what we can and can鈥檛 see from satellites, how scientific satellite images are different from Google Earth, and why they are important.聽 福利着片 out how satellites can be used to monitor things like air pollution and plant health, and explore what the future might hold.
