For students at the University of Southampton, Sport and Wellbeing membership can offer a range of sporting, engaging and fun activities to enhance the student experience. Their wide ranging membership packages are aimed at meeting student needs and expectations whilst giving access to a large number of sites.
The University owns 6 gyms and a swimming pool across campuses and your membership gives you access to a further three gym and pool complexes within Southampton. If you have an affinity for outdoor sports, there is the 76 acre Wide Lane Sports Ground, which includes a range of grass and synthetic pitches.
Southampton is very proud to boast the top water sports provision for students within the UK. The Watersports Centre is also the site of the University Rifle Range where alongside Air Rifle Shooting sessions, you can take part in a variety of activities for individuals and groups aimed at improving skills and teambuilding. Your membership also gives you access to some of the cheapest Royal Yachting Association (RYA) training courses within the UK. These aim to teach you how to sail, powerboat, windsurf and paddle.
As a member you get free access to a wide variety of facilities. For example, a six-a-side football pitch or tennis court at Wide Lane, a spinning class at the Jubilee, the ski slope at the Southampton Sports Centre, sailing at the Watersports Centre, or an insanity class in our Sports Hall.
