As outlined in July, work has been progressing within Finance, Planning and Analytics (FPA) to align Faculty Finance staff to our five-faculty structure.
Following completion of phase 1, the focus more recently has been the design and resourcing of the Finance Research Hub.

Having been asked for their preferences, seven colleagues from the Faculty Finance Teams asked to join the new hub. This gives FPA a committed and enthusiastic team to start the work. Organisation charts for the Faculty Finance and Research Hub Teams, with effect from 1 January 2019, can be found here.
The current Head of Research & Enterprise Finance, Ellie Draper, will be leaving the University on 10 January 2019. Stepping into the role is James Sturgess, the current Head of Financial Operations. James will bring with him significant experience from his time as Head of Faculty Finance for the previously named Faculty of Engineering and the Environment.
The team in the Finance Research Hub will be located in the Gower Building (Highfield Campus), with provision being worked on for providing on-site support at other campus locations.
Initially, all pre-award work from the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences (FEPS) and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH) will transfer to the Hub.
Over the next few months, FPA will be completing the staffing of the hub; movements in staff will be reviewed as they arise with a view to taking on work from the Faculty of Medicine (FMED), the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences (FELS), and the Faculty of Social Sciences (FSS).
An overview of pre-award contact points on a faculty-by-faculty basis will be available on the covering research. A deadline of 31 July 2019 has been identified to move all pre-award work and resource into the Hub.
