Join this year’s BioBlitz for bat walks, midnight moths and a dawn chorus

We’re running 24 hours of events in June to celebrate biodiversity on and around our campuses.

Join us for ecology seminars, bat walks, a midnight moth capturing session, a breaking dawn birdsong chorus stroll and this year’s main BioBlitz survey.

These free events will run from 19:00 on Friday 7 June ³Ü²Ô³Ù¾±±ôÌý19:00 Saturday 8 June. All of the sessions are open to students, staff, families and members of the community, but numbers are limited.

A BioBlitz is a race against the clock to find and record as many animals and plants as possible. You’ll work as a team and be allocated a plot on Highfield Campus or on Southampton Common. Not an expert? Don’t worry. Staff from will be on hand to help. Everything you find will be documented by them, as well as by the .
