Our initial opening hours are:听
- Hartley Library: Monday 鈥� Friday,听11:00-15:00 (from 10 September)听
- Health Services Library: Tuesday 鈥� Thursday, 11:00-15:00 (from听3 September)听
- Winchester School of Art Library: Tuesday 鈥� Thursday, 11:00-15:00听(from听22 September)听
- National Oceanographic Library: reopening date to be confirmed听
Term time听opening hours will start on 28 September.听
We have taken the decision听with the Faculty of Humanities听for the Avenue Library & Learning Commons to remain听closed听until January 2021. It is guided by the need to make additional short-term space available for teaching and learning, and difficulties ensuring the Library & Learning Commons would be COVID-secure for staff and students.听
Studying in the Libraries:鈥赌�鈥痑鈥痵tudy听space. Study spaces are two metres apart鈥痑nd听cleaning materials听will be听provided.鈥疶he computer workstation rooms within the libraries remain closed, but听some bookable PCs听will be available.听
Browse & Borrow:鈥�鈥痑 timeslot to select books from the shelves, then use the self-issue machine.
Click & Collect: You can continue to use our Click & Collect service to reserve books to collect any time the听libraries are听open.鈥�
Book returns: You can return books to the听Hartley book returns letterbox or the听red box outside the听Health Services听Library听and Winchester School of Art Library听entrances. It may take a few days before the books are removed from your library account. All books will be quarantined to ensure they are safe to borrow.鈥�
We have been working hard to put measures in place to ensure safe use of our libraries, including:鈥�
- 鈥��������疕and sanitisers at听library entrances听and increased cleaning
- 鈥��������疞imited occupancy with鈥痯rebooked鈥痵tudy spaces to enable social distancing鈥�
- 鈥��������疶est & trace system听
- 鈥��������疨erspex screens at service desks鈥�
- 鈥��������疉 one-way route around the library to avoid congestion鈥�
- 鈥��������疉 quarantine system for returned items鈥�
