Time to Talk Day: events to start conversations

(Thursday 3 February) – a day to encourage conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

Mental health affects everyone. Connecting with others can enhance our wellbeing and help us – and others – feel empowered to reach out for support.

We understand it can sometimes be easier to talk about mental health while doing other things, so we’ve organised free events to help kick start conversations tomorrow: Ìý

Support available all year: Ìý

  • The Student Hub is available 24/7 to talk to about any issues you may be facing, and they can help you access further support.Ìý
  • Wellbeing Chats provide the opportunity to talk to a Wellbeing Advisor about the support that is available to you or to share concerns about a friend.Ìý
  •  have a 24/7 text support line where you can talk confidentially to a trained volunteer.Ìý
  •  â¶Ä“ whatever you’re going through, a Samaritan will face it with you. They are available 24/7 by phone. Ìý

Other wellbeing initiativesÌý

  • Social prescribing drop-ins – from Thursday 10 February, every Thursday, 14:00-16:00 at the , the trial service has been set up to support non-medical aspects of health including mental health and your sense of wellness.Ìý
  • Wellbeing Sessions for Postgraduate Research Students â¶Ä“Ìýthere are still spaces available on the next two sessions for PhD students on Friday 4 February and Friday 18 February.
  •  â¶Ä“ taking place between Tuesday 1 February and Thursday 3 March.ÌýGet your step count to 6,740 steps a day for 30 days for a grand total of 202,200 steps, and raise money for British Inspiration Trust (BRIT)ÌýandÌýStudent Minds, charities supporting students’ and young people’s mental health.Ìý, andÌý.Ìý
