The University is announcing today that Sue Littlemore has been appointed as our new Director of Civic and Arts.

Sue, currently Joint Managing Director of the EnterpriseM3 Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), will play a key role in co-ordinating and promoting the breadth of civic, arts and culture activity already underway across the University, developing extensive regional and national partnerships and networks, and ensuring successful delivery of our Civic Strategic Plan and the Civic University Agreements recently signed with our five local Councils. She will start at Southampton on 21 August.
Sue will be based within Research and Innovation Services, reporting to Executive Director Lorna Colquhoun, and working very closely with Professor Jane Falkingham, Vice-President Engagement & International, who has UEB responsibility for delivery of our Civic activities, and across key Professional Services, particularly Engagement and Advancement. Delivering on the Civic University Agreements and University Civic strategic plan will require working across an very wide range of stakeholders, inside and outside of the University, and Sue is extremely well placed to drive that forward.
A former BBC television and radio Education Correspondent, she has an extensive background and interest in politics, public policy and higher education. Sue also has a strong track record leading economic and social development in our Southern region, having held three increasingly senior roles at EnterpriseM3 LEP over the last seven years.
Sue Littlemore said: 鈥淚 know this University and its people represent a powerful force for good in this region. I am absolutely delighted to be joining聽 Southampton which is so clearly committed to extending its role as a Civic University, to building dynamic partnerships and to improving the economic, social and cultural prosperity of the South.鈥
