Module overview

This module challenges you to articulate and critically position your individual design philosophy and ethos while exploring future‑oriented scenarios through practice‑led research. You will engage with contemporary debates in product design, including sustainability, social and technological change, and speculative design approaches, to define your perspective as an emerging practitioner. Through creative experimentation and speculative thinking, you will undertake practice‑led research that tests ideas and directly informs the concept, scope, and direction of your Final Design Project. Alongside this practical exploration, you will further develop your research and critical writing skills to produce a structured and coherent project proposal, demonstrating how your creative enquiry, values, and design philosophy underpin and justify your final project plan.
