The EPSRC DLA offers funded studentships for exceptional, diverse doctoral candidates (PGRs) across EPSRC priorities, nurturing them in an enriching, supportive and inclusive environment.
An EPSRC Strategic Framework Partner, the University consistently ranks within the top 10 UK Universities for EPSRC funding. In REF2021, 96% of our EPSRC-remit outputs were world leading or internationally excellent, up to ~40% PGR co-authored.
DLA projects will be based across our engineering, physical or mathematical sciences research groups.Ìý
The DLA will equip PGRs through a comprehensive training program aligned with cutting-edge research themes like Generative AI and quantum technologies, preparing them for impactful careers as academic researchers or professionals contributing to the UK economy and addressing capacity challenges.ÌýÌý
In addition to disciplinary-based funding the University offersa portfolio of over 400 live or online developmental or skills PGR training courses a year.Ìý Dedicated teams of professionals will help to provide layered pastoral support
Managed by a diverse and representative EPSRC Management Group (EMG) the DLA will allocate funds across the areas outlined below.
