Current research

I am currently the lead researcher on the AHRC-funded projects, which provide culture-led solutions for place-based research. 

My next project proposes a new model for visual arts participation, funded by the and in partnership with the . This work includes co-designing open-access policy toolkits with cultural stakeholders to support inclusive arts infrastructure across local government. The work is based in Southampton but extends nationally via collaborations with , , , and . The project uses data tools, creative methods, and community engagement to inform decision-making. I will also lead and coordinate the five awarded LUCIA projects, building partnerships across the UK’s cultural and creative sector.

I am writing a book, States of Emergency in 20th Century Literature: Carl Schmitt, Sovereignty, Modernism, for Bloomsbury.
