I'm a Lecturer in Digital Media within the Film Studies department. I'm also Programme Lead for the BA Film, TV, and Digital Media degree.
My academic interests sit somewhere roughly between cultural/film/media studies, continental philosophy, and intellectual history. Both my research and teaching focus on the cultivation of audiences, identities, and public personae, the transmission of ideas and cultural forms across historical contexts, and ethico-aesthetic practices of selfhood. My most recent monograph is (London: Bloomsbury, 2023).
I'm a contributing editor for . I also currently act as external examiner for the MA Mass Communications degree at Liverpool John Moores University and between 2021-2025 held the same role for the BA Media Communications at Bath Spa University.
