Alex Gershkov is a Professor at the Department of Economics in the School of Economics, Social and Political Sciences. Alex has broad research interests in economic theory. His recent research focused on different aspects of mechanism design such as mechanism design with non-expected utilities and dynamic mechanism design.
Alex Gershkov鈥檚 recent work continues to advance the theory of mechanism design by integrating considerations of risk, information asymmetry, and dynamic settings. In recent research Alex studies these considerations in insurance markets, markets for financial securities and classical economic allocation problems. These contributions expand our understanding of how risk preferences, budget constraints, and strategic dynamics shape optimal mechanisms beyond standard risk鈥恘eutral or static models.
Alex is currently teaching ECON6093 Economic Analysis.
