Accessible sports and fitness

At Southampton Sport you can find inclusive spaces, accessible equipment and several offers and specialised sessions across our facilities to help meet your needs.

We work closely with our enabling team to support student wellbeing at University of Southampton.

Please speak to a member of the team if you need support in our gyms. We're happy to discuss any issues with you, and offer gym equipment that can be adapted to meet your needs.

We have several staff holding GP referral qualifications and Level 3 exercise for disabled clients, with the appropriate experience managing exercise with contraindications.

Accessible features

We have a range of accessible and inclusive features available at both our Mayflower Gym and Jubilee Sport and Recreation Centre, including equipment known as Inclusive Fitness Items (IFI), gender-neutral changing villages and a swimming pool hoist.

Visit the facility page for more information on the features available at each centre.

Discounts, free trials and financial support

We are working with the Student Disability and Inclusion team at the university offering support, tours and a trial of our facilities to those referred to us.
