Applicants are expected to hold a minimum of 60 percent or an upper second class degree (2.1) at both undergraduate and postgraduate level in a relevant discipline.

These scholarships include full tuition fees and an annual stipend of £20,780 (subject to increase) for 3 years and are open to UK/EU and international students. Applicants must meet our admission requirements for PhD students. We especially welcome applications that will develop an interdisciplinary approach to addressing real-world challenges, help solve real-world problems, and create positive outcomes by bridging practice and academic disciplines to improve the future of work, business, and entrepreneurship.

Please apply to the PhD Business Studies & Management programme within the Faculty of Social Sciences for entry in the 2026/27 academic session, and indicate Business School studentship in the funding section of the application form.  

Please ensure you upload a current CV, research proposal, degree certificates and transcripts from all previous studies, 2 valid references dated within the last 2 years, on letterheaded paper and signed or provide referee contact details on the application form.  If you hold an English language test score which is less than 2 years old, please also include this in your application.
