Sarah joined the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton as a Senior Research Fellow in 2016. She has extensive experience carrying out research into care for people with neurological conditions, including dementia. She also carries out research into the adoption and use of digital health technologies.
Sarah has an interest in qualitative and interpretivist approaches to health research. She teaches qualitative research methods and co-leads the Clinical Research Skills module of the MSc Allergy programme.
Sarah’s research often focuses on the patient perspective and she is passionate about increasing the participation of underserved groups in research. She is the Academic Lead for PPIE in Ageing and Dementia in NIHR ARC Wessex and co-chairs the ARC Public Involvement Forum.
