About
My research focuses on the intersection of climate policy and community at risk in coastal Indonesia. I explore how national and sub-national climate adaptation strategies align or conflict with the lived experiences and adaptive practices of communities facing climate-related hazards such as flooding, sea-level rise, and erosion.
Grounded in human geography, environmental governance, and development policy, my work uses a multi-scalar, place-based approach. I combine qualitative methods, GIS, policy mapping, and fieldwork to analyse how adaptation policies vary across space and how local ecological, demographic, and institutional factors shape their effectiveness. A key focus of my research is the role of social capital -bonding, bridging, and linking networks – in enabling community-based adaptation.
