Biography
Bhavika S is a doctoral researcher in the Department of English, University of Southampton. She is funded by the South, West and Wales Doctoral Training Partnership (SWWDTP). Her research examines how comics from Northeast India function as emerging archives that preserve cultural memory, oral narratives, and traditions across generations.
Her academic interests lie at the intersection of literature, visual culture, and memory studies, with a focus on how visual storytelling engages with questions of history, identity, and preservation. Her doctoral project highlights the significance of regional and indigenous forms of storytelling within broader discussions of cultural continuity and archival practices.
Prior to joining Southampton, Bhavika completed her MA in English at the University of Delhi, where she developed her interest in visual narratives and cultural representation.
